Super Eagles and West Bromwich Albion striker has had his bid from Qatari club, Al Gharafa rejected. According to the Daily Mail. Qatari club Al Gharafa had initially asked to take the former Sochaux of France forward on loan but West Brom will only consider an outright sale and wanted to recoup most of their summer spending on the striker. The 26-year-old Nigerian joined the Baggies last summer for a club record of £10million from Ukrainian giants, Dynamo Kiev but has failed to impress. He scored only two goals in 16 appearances so far this season. The former Ocean Boys striker has suffered injuries and complete loss of form since his switch to the Hawthorns and it is no surprise that he is being earmarked to leave barely a season after his arrival. Another Premier League side, Sunderland was reported to be interested but it seemed Gus Poyet had decided on other options and it still remained very unlikely Ideye will remain at the Hawthorns beyond next summer. It is now believed that Al Gharafa was considering a revised bid but had three other options as well as Ideye and wanted to secure a striker before their season kicks off next weekend against Lekhwiya. Ideye was signed by former manager, Alan Irvine, though the 56-year old later admitted he had signed the Nigerian without previously watching him play.
